They are not as well behaved as Colleen's dogs, they don't sit when you tell them to, they don't go lay on their pillows when told, they don't let you through the door before them..as they are supposed to...but they allowed these 6 strange dogs into their home for 8 months now, as if they always shared their lives with them.  They share their toys, their pillows, their crates, their treats...all without complaint. It is a common sight to walk in and see 3 large boxers sharing the same dog pillow. You can't tell where one begins and the other ends..its a nice sight to witness. But back to Devin. Devin had just turned 14 years old when he came to stay with me. He walked in, looked around...found him a soft pillow and he was home!!! The relocation didn't phase him a bit...as long as the food bowl was filled twice a day, the treats were non-stop and he had a nice soft bed...he was good to go... He was the spryest gray dog I've ever known... You see, no one told him he was 14 years old!! Between Colleen and I and all the dogs, we had enough medicine and supplements to make a pharmacist say Cha Ching!!!!...however, none of that was for Devin... Even at 14 he didn't need heart pills, joint pills, stomach medicine...nothing..he was as healthy as a horse. I can recall one evening when Colleen was in the living room making Meghan do fronts and placements and Devin got right up in front and pushed Meghan out of the way because he wanted to work!!! So Colleen did a few fronts with him. His old hips were a little weak so it took him several seconds to sit in a comfortable position but he wanted to work and by God, those youngins were going to have to move out of his way! And then she would go outside and play frizbee with the dogs and there would be old Devin trotting right after them and she would throw the frizbee to him and he could still catch it...of course the distrance of the throw was a lot shorter now.. LOL

He had been with us for several months and one night I heard Colleen scream from her room. I jumped up and ran and Devin was having a seizure. He came out of it but it took its toll on him. Off to the vet she went and the vet said he thought it was a brain tumor. So he sent him home for us to watch.
